Education/work/clubs/organizationsTeresa F. (White) Howes, 82, of Maynard, died on Thursday, May 12, 2011 surrounded by her six boys; Peter, George, Mike, Paul, Joe and David. Mrs. Howes will join her husband George and daughters Susan and Terri in heaven.

Teresa was born at Emerson Hospital on March 13th, 1929, was raised in Maynard and graduated from Maynard High School in 1947. Teresa retired from Digital Equipment Corporation in 1991 as an Executive Assistant.

Teresa married George C. Howes in 1953, raising their family of 8 children, 16 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Teresa and George were married for 53 wonderful and loving years. Teresa dedicated her life to her beloved and cherished children and their development will always be her highest accomplishment. During her life Teresa was always part of her children’s activities, including providing her children with loving guidance well into their adult lives.

She was the daughter of Peter White and Julia E. (Sheehan) White. Mrs. Howes resided most of her life in Maynard and retired to Lady Lake, Florida. During her final years she lived and was strongly supported by members of St. Patrick’s Manor in Framingham Massachusetts. Mrs. Howes was a devoted member of St. Bridget’s Parish in Maynard.

SurvivorsMrs. Howes leaves behind her six boys and their families: Peter Howes, his wife Joyce and their daughter Katelyn; George Howes, his wife Janice and their children Jennifer, Timothy, Steven, Brian and their grandson Tyler; Michael Howes; Paul Howes, his wife Kristyn and their children Christopher, Kelsee, Kyle, and Cal; Joseph Howes, his wife Michele and their children Ashley and Alysha; and David Howes, his wife Linda and their children Danny and Julia. Teresa’s oldest child Susan (Howes) Mosca passed away in 2010 leaving behind her husband Paul, son Michael, daughter Kristin and grandson Brody.
ArrangementsVisiting hours were held on Monday, May 16th from 4:00 pm to 8:00pm at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Avenue (Rt 111) Acton. The funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, May 17th at 9:00am at St. Bridget’s Parish, 1 Percival Street, Maynard, followed by graveside services in St. Bridget’s Cemetery, Great Rd. (Rte 117) Maynard. Gifts can be made in honor of Mrs. Howes to the Boys & Girls Club of Assabet Valley in Maynard, Massachusetts.
