age 56, a lifelong Framingham resident, died Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at her home.

Mary was the beloved daughter of the late Eddie and "Kaffie" (Brown) Sakovitz, who remained devoted to her throughout her life. She is survived by her siblings, Susan Rutherford and her husband James of Ware, Jane Sakovitz-Dale and her husband Peter of Vermont, and Stephen E. Sakovitz and his wife Kathleen of Framingham; her nieces and nephew, Jamie Rutherford, Emelie Rutherford, Ann Rutherford, Meg Rutherford, Adam Dale, Emma Dale, and Katie Sakovitz. She had many aunts, uncles and cousins, but was particularly close to her aunt, Sophie Stanley and cousin, Mary Ellen Wyman. Her brother, Steve, who was her guardian for the past 25 years, provided a loving and constant presence in her life. He maintained close contact with Mary and all her caregivers to ensure the highest possible quality of life after her parents passed on.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Friday, Aug. 20th at 2:00 p.m. at St. Stephen's Church, 251 Concord St., (Rte. 126) Framingham. Burial followed in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Fenwick St., Framingham with a memorial gathering to follow at her late residence, 98 Dudley Rd., Framingham at 4:00 p.m. The family suggests that memorial gifts be made in Mary's name to Justice Resource Institute, 354 Waverly St., Framingham, MA. 01702.
