Education/work/clubs/organizationsBorn in Somerville, MA. in 1941, she was the daughter of the late M. John and Edith (Estabrook) Gunn and one of seven siblings. Mrs. Connors was born and raised in Arlington, followed by Maynard. She was a 1959 graduate of Maynard High School. In 1959, she was married to Gerald C. Connors of Maynard; where they settled and raised their four sons. In life, Sandra was passionate, caring and selfless in her relationship with her sons, grandchildren and close friends. In her final years, while herself in declining health, she found solace in providing care for those in ill-health in her immediate living community. Her family and friends will miss her gentle heart, her steadfast point of view, and her lifelong commitment to giving much, while asking for little. Sandra was pre-deceased by her parents, Edith and M. John Gunn, her infant sons Brian and John, son Kevin J. Connors, and her brother Dr. Alan Gunn; and long time companion David Gustin.
SurvivorsShe is survived by three sons, Michael J. Connors, wife Christine and grandsons Ian, Brendan, and Brian of Canton, OH.; Daniel J. Connors, wife Erin, and granddaughter Madison and grandson Nicholas of Valencia, CA.; and Timothy J. Connors of Maynard. She is also survived by her sisters Arlene Fitzpatrick and husband Walter N. Fitzpatrick, of Austin, TX; Linda Paakkonen, of Casper, WY; Karen Jones, of Clinton, MA; brothers John Gunn and wife Roberta, of Interlaken, NJ, Donald Gunn and wife Candace, of Avon, CT; sister-in-law Mary (Stigliani) Gunn, of Center Rutland, Vt.; step-mother Mary Gunn, of Ocala, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
ArrangementsRelatives and friends were invited to visiting hours on 29th day, April, 2011 from 4-8pm at the Martin & Doran Funeral Home, 12 Lincoln St., Maynard. A funeral Mass was celebrated 30th day, April, 2011 at 9:00 am at the Saint Bridget’s Church, 1 Percival St., Maynard, with burial following in Saint. Bridget's Cemetery, Great Rd. (Rte 117) Maynard.
