| Education/work/clubs/organizations | Born in St. John, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Basil J. and Florence M. (Wells) Foster. The Burkes were married May 6, 1962, and settled in Maynard to raise their family. Mrs. Burke was employed as a manager at the former Digital Equipment Corporation in Maynard, later at Advanced Modular before retiring. She enjoyed time spent in her garden and patio, and especially loved the annual St. Patrick’s Day gathering with family and friends. |
| Survivors | In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Michael of Maynard and David of Tampa, FL.; a granddaughter Kelly Piostroski of Portsmouth, NH., grandsons Aaron Burke of Gardner and Ryan Burke of Tampa Bay, FL; a sister, Shirley Berniche of Somerville; a brother William Foster of Hull; and several loving in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews. |
| Arrangements | Graveside services will be held on Sat. May 21st at 11:00am in Glenwood Cemetery, Great Rd. (Rte 117) Maynard, with a reception to follow at the family home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Burke's name to the American Lung Association of New England, 460 Totten Pond Rd., Suite 400, Waltham, MA. 02451-1991. |
